Erin rated it really liked it Frank 01, I really have no idea how to rate this book or even if I loved it or hated it. It seems to connect so many of his books in a rather bizarre way. It’s one of the weirdest books I’ve ever read, still I couldn’t put it down. This is one of the greatest books I’ve ever read. A painter named William Wiley lives with his free-spirited American granky in rural Italy, making a living by writing children’s books–and for years enchanting his family with the tales of Franky Furbo, an archetypal, wise old fox that Wiley claims to have spoken to during the War–and that he claims in fact to have been rescued by in body and mind.

Wiley, it turns out, really believes he’s had this strange encounter, despite the scoffings of psychiatrists and much more gently even of his own wife.

It was very well written but not for me. Lists with This Book. It’s most certainly one of the most unexpected stories I’ve ever read.


It could be a masterpiece and you could fubro it if you consider the way the author managed to implement a story inside a story and make it all perf This book was weird.
