Leest gemakkelijk weg ookal is het best een dik boek. I probably won’t try any of the rest of the series, even though the first book in the series, River God, seems to get rave reviews.

Overall it’s a decent story, and parts of it were fascinating. I’ve never read any of his other work, except for a Reader’s Wilhur condensed version of The Sunbirdbut this his 25th novel would suggest that his reputation is deserved.

The descriptions of ancient Egyptian mythology were wonderful and accurate but descriptions of landmarks and the landscape as a whole were lacking. Lists with This Book.

Refresh and smoth again. It was really one of the worst books I have read. Silvana Andrea Gonzalez is currently reading it Dec 02, Some of the violence is msith and gruesome and my oldest daughter, who’s read more of Smith’s work than I have, reports that this is characteristicbut it was nothing I couldn’t handle. As for historical accuracy This is disgusting, but it’s intended to be. Instead of giving us another adventure with Taita, Smith presents us with a modern day treasure hunt, but with the River God story acting as the map!

I didn’t like how the writer inserted himself in the story in which he was playing a secondary character ‘Wilbur Smith’. Smith has written a beautiful, adventerous story about love, greed, death and courage. I’m not a prude but it just seemed like the pervy fantasies of a s,ith old man. Regardless, it works wonderfully here.
